Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby (a lawyer) and Chris Watson (a French mother). The couple was moved to Oxfordshire when she was five years old, and attended the Dragon School. Emma decided she wanted to perform since when she was six years old. She studied for a few years at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. This part-time theatre school taught her dancing, singing, and acting. At the age of ten Emma was already participating in Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. The casting process began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (192001) it was the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, David Heyman informed Emma and Rupert Grint that they were given the roles of Hermione Granger as well as Harry Potter. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen debut. The film was the highest-rated film of 2001 in terms of opening-day and weekend takings. Critics praised the film and the performances of the three young actors who were the most prominent. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper widely distributed, called Emma's performance "admirable." Emma was awarded five awards for her performance in the film, including the Young Artist Award, for the Best Young Actress In a Feature Film. Following the release of the first film of the highly successful franchise, Emma became one of the most well-known actors in the world. For a total of ten years, she played the part of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma acquired two Critics Choice Award nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her roles in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
