Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage writer and actor, and her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers have occasionally were on stage at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, which her father started and where he serves as executive director. When she was five, she auditioned against Kirsten Dunst for her lead part in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. She relocated to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 and has been a hit ever since and has been featured in a variety of TV series, TV movies as well as feature films. She starred as Tracy in Practical Magic (1998) and also in S1m0ne (2002, Al Pacino's child). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her breakout role in the movie as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her an award. Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in a Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in a Leading Role. She was the youngest actress to be nominated for an award for a Leading Role award at the time. She won an Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Miniseries or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011). Her stellar performance as Stephanie Rourke's estranged son in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her recognition. Daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood. The younger sister of Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a professional dancer. She loves to dance or sing, play the rollblade and even horseback ride. She is the black belt from tae kwon do. She keeps in touch with a lot of her Once and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
