Beyoncé Giselle Knowles
Beyonce Giselle Knowles was conceived in
Houston, Texas on September 4 1981. Her mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson is the one who
designs their glittering costumes. her father, Mathew Knowles is the manager of
Destiny's Child. Solange, her older sister (4 years apart), is releasing her
debut album. She performs with her sister at DC-3 concerts. Beyonce is of
Louisiana Creole and African descent. The group she and her friends were
discovered by Whitney Houston. One of her top songs is "Lovefool" by
The Cardigans. An elegant pair of path boots for work is her absolute favorite
piece of clothes. She wrote and produced numerous of the group's popular songs,
such as "Jumpin jumping", "Bootylicious", Nasty
Girl"," Independent Women", "Happy Face" and
"Apple Pie A la Mode". She is the lead singer for Destiny's Child. As
her opening act, she was on tour with Christina Aguilera (2000). She also
toured together with TLC as their opening show (1999). Master P is a cat. She
was a student at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Houston,
Texas. Solange's older half-sister as well as Nixon & Koi Knowles big
sister. The two appeared on Star Search (1983). In 2001, she was the first
woman from Africa to ever win the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award. She
is a big fan of Middle Eastern music and dance. Her most famous hit is her song
"Crazy in Love" that she released in 2003. Her appearances on awards
shows include the Radio Music Awards, MTV Europe Video Music Awards, and
Billboard Awards. She also performed at a South African AIDS benefit show in
November 2003, which was organized by Bono of U2 to combat the AIDS epidemic in
sub-Saharan African countries. (February 8th in 2004) The singer won five
Grammy Awards, including Best Contemporary R&B Album for "Dangerously
in Love" The singer took home the most awards at this year's (2004) show.
Her father, Mathew, is of African descent. Tina is of Louisiana Creole descent.
Her ancestors include African and French and also have ancestors in Louisiana
and Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish and has distant Breton and Spanish,
Indonesian and Chinese roots. According to some, she invented a stage name
named "Sasha" in order to overcome her shyness.
